Two CU Aerospace students earn Women Forward in Technology Scholarships
Congratulations to University of Colorado Boulder aerospace graduate students Katya Arquilla and Heather Hava for being awarded 2018 Women Forward in Technology Scholarships!
Nine women were with CU Boulder and MIT being the only universities with multiple honorees. Arquilla also received the scholarship in 2017, making her a two-time winner.
"The Women Forward in Technology scholarship recognizes that women in STEM bear an acute burden to maintain a constant, tireless push toward equality,” said Arquilla. “I – and all women in STEM – work to help realize a world where women in technology will not have to question their position or doubt themselves, and I look forward to the near future when this will be a reality."
The program provides $3,000 scholarships to women pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM).
More than 150 applicants from over 125 universities applied for scholarships to be used directly toward educational advancement.
The initiative is sponsored by Sponsored by Distil Networks, Amazon Web Services, Cooley, Foundry Group, HelpScout, MOZ, Offleash PR and Yesware.
