The Department of Applied Mathematics has decided to permanently remove the GRE test (both general and subject) from our Ph.D. and Professional MS program applications. The GRE imposes undue financial stress on prospective students, especially those from low income backgrounds. Moreover, the GRE has been shown to be a poor indicator of graduate school success in STEM fields. Our department continues to pursue efforts to increase student diversity, and foster an inclusive environment where our students can be successful in our program and well beyond. Graduate applications will continue to focus on academic transcripts, personal statements and letters of recommendation.
More information about our graduate programs can be found on the academics tab on the APPM website.
