“Cheers to Science” begins this week
Scientists are bringing the "science" to "science communication" at a new monthly event beginning this week.
The event—called "Cheers to Science"—is a series of talks presented by local scientists from the University of Colorado Boulder and beyond that looks to both help the general public understand science better and help scientists learn how to better communicate with the public in the relaxed atmosphere of Bookcliff Vineyards.
The inaugural talk will be presented by Michael Kodas, the Deputy Director of the Center for Environmental Journalism at CU Boulder and the winner of the 2008 Colorado Book Award for General Nonfiction for his book, Megafire: The Race to Extinguish a Deadly Epidemic of Flame, which was also named one of the 20 best nonfiction books of 2017 by Amazon:
