  • The full-time, in-person program is 10 months. The part-time, online program format takes two years to complete.
  • Automatic admission is granted to recent Leeds graduates and CU graduates with a Business Minor with at least a 3.0 GPA.

The MS Business Analytics (MSBA) Healthcare track prepares you to turn big data into actionable insights that drive systemic improvements. You will develop the skill set needed to retrieve, analyze and interpret a vast range of health-related data. Meanwhile, you'll learn about developments in marketing and customer analytics including operations research, aspects of computer science and statistical methods.

The MSBA Healthcare track curriculum includes specialized courses provided by the College of Nursing at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus-a world-class medical institution for transformative education, science, medicine and healthcare-in partnership with Leeds School of Business.

You will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting healthcare data to improve patient outcomes and optimize operational efficiency. They use statistical tools and software to identify trends and provide actionable insights to healthcare providers and administrators.

ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND INFORMATION ANALYTICS

David G. Dobolyi is an Assistant Professor in the division of Organizational Leadership and Information Analytics, Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado Boulder. He earned his PhD in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Virginia, and his research spans a range of topics including cybersecurity, text analytics, and face recognition. His work leverages a variety of statistical methods including predictive analytics, natural language processing, artificial intelligence, and behavioral experiments.

COLLEGE OF NURSING, ANSCHUTZ MEDICAL CENTER

Sharon Giarrizzo-Wilson, PhD, RN-BC, CNOR is an Assistant Professor and Specialty Director for Healthcare Informatics at the University of Colorado College of Nursing. Dr. Giarrizzo-Wilson is board-certified in nursing informatics and perioperative nursing with more than 40 years experience as a healthcare clinician with progressive leadership and project management skills. Her expertise covers patient safety, quality and process improvement, nursing terminology development and clinical informatics. She obtained her PhD in Nursing from Loyola University, Chicago with a research focused on the capture and data structure in the electronic health record (EHR) of perioperative patient transitional care communications

ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND INFORMATION ANALYTICS

Dr. Abram Handler is an Assistant Professor with the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado, Boulder. His research focuses on developing new natural language processing (NLP) methods for use in new digital analytics interfaces. He is particularly interested in tools and methods for searching, analyzing and making sense of large bodies of text. In this work, he designs and builds systems with collaborators from human-computer interaction, develops new NLP algorithms for summarizing documents, and researches new digital techniques for analyzing large bodies of text. His work has appeared at top computer science venues like EMNLP, NAACL and ACM TiiS.

COLLEGE OF NURSING, ANSCHUTZ MEDICAL CENTER

Mustafa Ozkaynak joined the faculty of the University of Colorado College of Nursing in 2013. Previously, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. During his postdoc, he was part of a research team that studied the structural quality of anticoagulation management. He earned his MS and PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His dissertation was entitled “Characterizing Workflow in Hospital Emergency Departments.” As a PhD student, he received a Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) PhD scholarship.
