The Opportunity
The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures in the College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a 9-month, non- tenure earning instructor or lecturer position in Japanese, anticipated to begin August 2024.
The successful candidate will teach primarily lower-level language classes in Japanese. Assignments will consist of eight classes per year. The selected candidate will also be expected to contribute to the growth of the program.
Minimum Qualifications:
A master’s degree (for an instructor) or terminal degree (for a lecturer) in Japanese or related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment. Native or near- native fluency in Japanese and a high level of English proficiency is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with at least two years of experience teaching beginner and intermediate language classes at the university or college level, and experience using a range of teaching modalities (i.e., online, mixed-mode, and face-to-face courses).
