Kristi Anseth named National Academy of Inventors Fellow

Kristi Anseth inducted into 2015 National Academy of Inventors

ProfessorÌýKristi AnsethÌýhas been named aÌýNational Academy of Inventors Fellow, a distinction recognizing academic inventors whose innovations make a tangible impact on society.

Anseth is among 168 new 2015 NAI Fellows inducted April 15, all of whom hold U.S. patents and were nominated by their peers for outstanding contributions in areas such as patents and licensing, innovative discovery and technology, significant impact on society, and support and enhancement of innovation.

Anseth, the Tisone Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering, is an accomplished teacher and researcher, focusing on new biomaterials for applications in drug delivery and regenerative medicine.

"It is my privilege to welcome the 2015 class of outstanding academic inventors to the Academy as Fellows," said NAI President Dr. Paul R. Sanberg. "These inspiring individuals have made remarkable contributions to society through their work in research and discovery as well as in patents, licensing, and commercialization. They encourage a culture where invention and innovation is brought to the forefront, and it is an honor to recognize their tremendous accomplishments with NAI Fellow status."
