The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 5, Air and Radiation Division, Air Programs Branch is seeking highly qualified, energetic engineers and scientists.

EPA will be posting this employment opportunity for applicants with a degree in engineering on July 2, 2018.  The posting will be open until July 11.

The successful candidate for this position will possess the technical, leadership, and communication skills needed to:

  • Where state, local, or tribal agency has not been delegated authority to prepare permits for treatment, storage and disposal facilities (issuance, re-issuance, and modification), assist in the collection of necessary information from applicants, state, local, a. tribal agency representatives, and EPA staff.
  • Where state, local, or tribal agency has been delegated permit authority, assist senior permit specialist provide technical support and guidance on permits to state, local or tribal personnel.
  • Provide technical support to state, local or tribal agencies regarding technical and scientific criteria and methods.
  • Provide technical support in defense of technical and legal challenges to permits with Office of Regional Counsel.
  • Respond to permit inquiries.
