The AAAHC Accreditation process
The process takes three years, including an extensive self-assessment and on-site survey. AAAHC uses the 1095 Strong philosophy for accreditation, which seeks to identify and promote facilities that offer quality care every day. The name comes from the three-year or 1,095-day evaluation period.
The peer-based survey presents best practices to help an organization improve its care and services. The accreditation maintenance mindset includes ongoing compliance and continuous improvement in the facility’s daily activities. The intent of accreditation is for organizations to adopt policies and procedures that fuel quality and self-evaluation.
