Students who qualify under the revised statute will not receive a refund for the difference between out-of-state and in-state tuition for past tuition paid. Faculty/Staff Editions), 8/24/2021</li></ul></div> </div> </div> <h2>91ÖÆƬ³§ the Colorado American Indian Tribes Residency Exception</h2><p>Under the <a href="https://leg.colorado.gov/bills/sb21-029" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Colorado American Indian Tribes In-State Tuition Act</a>, signed into law on June 28, 2021, a student who would not otherwise qualify for in-state tuition and who is a registered member of one of the federally recognized American Indian tribes with historical ties to Colorado is eligible to be classified as an in-state student for tuition purposes starting with the 2021–22 academic year.</p><h2>How to Apply</h2><p>If you're a registered member of one of the <a href="/registrar/students/state-residency/exceptions#members_of_american_indian_tribes_with_historical_ties_to_colorado-903" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">federally recognized American Indian tribes with historical ties to Colorado</a>, submit the <a href="https://portal.prod.cu.edu/psc/epprod/UCB3/ENTP/s/WEBLIB_CU_EFORM.ISCRIPT1.FieldFormula.IScript_Populate_eForm?form=UCB_American_Indian_Residency_Exception_Form" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Colorado American Indian tribal membership verification form</a> and all required supporting documents (see form) by <strong>11:59 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021</strong>.</p><p></p><h2 dir="ltr">If Your Eligibility Is Confirmed</h2><p></p><p dir="ltr">If you submit the verification form by <strong>Sept. 10</strong> and we confirm your eligibility, you'll be classified as a Colorado resident for tuition purposes starting with the Fall 2021 semester.
