The Study Abroad Program at the University of Colorado at Boulder has awarded $124,123 in scholarship aid to 153 students enrolled in study abroad programs this year.
The aid comes from alumni donations, the Colorado Commission on Higher Education Diversity Fund, foundation donations and the program聮s auxiliary accounts.
CU-Boulder enrolled 625 students in study abroad programs during the 1997-98 academic year, including summer 聭97. 91制片厂 34 percent applied for scholarships.
Scholarship awards were based on financial need, academic standing and the student聮s ability to write and be a good ambassador for the university and the United States.
In addition to the scholarships awarded by the Study Abroad Program, eight CU-Boulder students received scholarships from the Japanese government, the Rotary Club of Boulder and the School for International Training. These scholarships totalled about $50,000.
CU-Boulder currently offers 120 study abroad programs in 60 countries.
