The system, heralded by admissions offices at research institutions and other comparable universities, will enable the admission offices to deliver a system that is easier to use and a more streamlined experience for both internal and external users. The system also provides enhanced functionality that allows the admissions offices to be more strategic.

Undergraduate admissions will go live with the first phase of functionality on Thursday, May 4. In preparation for the transition, the has been working with campus partners directly involved with the recruitment of undergraduate students.

For anyone who interacts with prospective undergraduates less frequently, it is still important to understand how Slate will change the way future prospective undergraduates will take care of business.

The most notable change to external users will be the retirement of the , which means students no longer need to create a MyCUBoulder account to request information, register for an Admission Visit Program, apply for admission, check their status or confirm their intent to enroll.*

Beginning May 4, instead of creating a MyCUBoulder account, future term undergraduate prospects will request more information about the university by clicking a “Request Information” link on the . Once ready to apply, transfers will use the new CU Boulder transfer application built in Slate, but first-year applicants will continue to apply using the .

Upon submission of an admission application, students will be automatically notified about how to log in to their status page, which will give them access to their application checklist, the scholarship application, transfer credit and other features that allow them to easily take care of business.

Features will be rolled out over the summer; please see the timeline above. Questions about Slate and how it pertains to undergraduate prospective students can be emailed to mycuboulder@colorado.edu.

*Please note these changes only pertain to future term undergraduate prospects. Any student who is a 2017 applicant or plans to apply for a 2017 term will continue to use MyCUBoulder for admissions-related business.
