There’s something for everyone at the Diversity and Inclusion Summit Nov. 12–13
You're invited to the Diversity and Inclusion Summit, hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity & Community Engagement at the University Memorial Center, from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Nov. 12 and 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 13. The event is free and open to all CU students, faculty and staff.
The summit will include remarks by keynote speaker Chris Bell of the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs campus, community building led by Dyonne Bergeron of the Center for Inclusion and Social Change and remarks by plenary speaker Evelyn Schlatter of the Southern Poverty Law Center.
In collaboration with the University Libraries, the summit committee has organized bookclub style sessions for , an invitation for the campus community to read and discuss Sabrina & Corina—stories by Kali Fajardo-Anstine, a Denver-based author.
There will also be more than 40 informative, challenging and interactive sessions exploring the theme intent and impact: what now? Sessions will include everything from a panel of leaders speaking about the intent and impact of the campus's strategic initiatives to an opportunity to develop skills for doing one's best and triumphing over one's fears (Courageous Badassery: Overcoming Fear In Order To Change the World).
