This week brings the Leo Hill Speaker Series, a suicide prevention workshop, Queers and Cakes, guided painting class, Angelica Ross talk, CU on Friday: Buffs Madness, School of Rock movie night and more.

Monday, Feb. 28

   12:30–1 p.m.    Virtual
Learn how to navigate two of the university’s best career platforms, Handshake and VMock. Handshake is used for all internships, jobs, career fairs and event registration. VMock is a useful tool to edit your rĂ©sumĂ© virtually and also request additional help from Career Services. to attend. 

   7:30–8:45 p.m.    Macky Auditorium
In his talk titled “Leadership in Times of Uncertainty,” McChrystal, a retired four-star general and former commander of the nation’s premier military counter-terrorism force, will share his battle-tested leadership views.


Tuesday, March 1

Come by and eat a slice of cake from a local bakery while chatting about LGBTQ+ life and culture. See you there!

Wednesday, March 2

Wellness Wednesdays: Strengths and Values

  Noon–2 p.m.   Engineering lobby
We all have different strengths and values. Attend this event to identify and reflect on your strengths and values at CU Boulder.

   12–1:15 p.m.    Wardenburg, West Solarium
An honest conversation about suicide prevention for students by students. You will learn to notice the signs that someone may be having thoughts of suicide, tips for having important conversations and how to connect someone to the available resources.


Thursday, March 3

Angelica Ross talk

   7 p.m.    UMC, Glenn Miller Ballroom
Angelica Ross, an actress (Pose, American Horror Story) and transgender rights advocate, will give the opening TRANSforming Gender Conference keynote address. The event is free and open to the public, and no tickets are required. Admission for the event will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The event will also be offered virtually— if you would like to attend virtually. The full conference will follow (virtually) on March 5.

   7–9 p.m.    UMC 235
Take time to relax and learn from a pro by attending a guided paint class. It’s a great way to get to know others while creating a painting you can’t wait to show off to your friends! All supplies are included. Registration is required to attend this event. 


Friday, March 4

   4–6 p.m.   UMC, The Connection
Connect with your community at this fun UMC tradition! March’s theme is “Buff Madness.” There will be a free-throw contest with prizes for the top finishers. Plus—get free nachos and lemonade and half-price bowling and billiards during the event.

   8–10:30 p.m.    CHEM 140
Come watch a movie on the big screen with Program Council. Tonight’s film is School of Rock. There will be free popcorn, and the event is open to all students and guests. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.; the film begins at 8 p.m.

TRANSforming Gender Conference

   March 5   10:30 a.m.–4:45 p.m.   Virtual
The TRANSforming Gender Conference raises awareness about issues and identities in the trans community. This year's keynote speaker is Sam Feder, director of the acclaimed Netflix original documentary Disclosure—an unprecedented, eye-opening look at transgender depictions in film and television, revealing how Hollywood simultaneously reflects and manufactures our deepest anxieties about gender. this insightful event.

Grab a couple of friends and get ready to have a great night at The Connection! Enjoy the fun of bowling with black lights, colored lane lights and color pins on Friday and Saturday nights. It’s the only extreme bowling you’ll find in Boulder
