Russell Moore names Yonca Ertimur acting dean of Leeds School
Provost Russell Moore has appointed Yonca Ertimur to be the acting dean of the Leeds School of Business, effective July 1. Ertimur will succeed Sharon Matusik, who was recently named the Edward J. Frey Dean of Business at the University of Michigan.
Ertimur is the senior associate dean for faculty and research at the Leeds School, the Tandean Rustandy Esteemed Professor and a professor of accounting. A recognized scholar and educator, her research focuses on corporate governance and the disclosure of information by firms and intermediaries who provide information to investors to guide their investment decisions. Her research has been published in the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Management Science, Review of Accounting Studies and Review of Financial Studies.
Ertimur earned a doctoral degree at New York University in 2003, a master’s degree in business administration at the University of Rochester in 1998 and bachelor’s degree at Bosphorus University in 1992. Prior to joining the Leeds School, Ertimur was an assistant professor of accounting at Duke University (2006–12) and Stanford University (2003–06.)
“It’s an honor and a privilege to serve Leeds and the university as acting dean,” said Ertimur. “I look forward to working closely with the strong leadership team in place at Leeds and with our faculty, staff and students to continue the many successful initiatives that Dean Matusik developed during her tenure.”
