CU alumni, faculty and affiliates have been winning Pulitzer prizes for at least 71 years. The tradition appears to have started in 1945, when Denver native Mary Coyle Chase won the drama prize for "Harvey," a comic play about a genial alcoholic and his six-foot-plus rabbit.

Learn more about university records retention and disposal policies

Universities are required by state and federal laws to retain and then dispose of their records according to specific standards. Each department is responsible for submitting its log of destroyed records to the Campus Controller's Office for an annual report to the state archivist.
