History
Established in 1993, theTed Scripps Fellowships in Environmental Journalism recently celebrated 25 years at the University of Colorado Boulder. The fellowship, which moved to the university in 1997, is named after the late Edward (Ted) Scripps, grandson of the founder of the Scripps Howard Foundation and a journalist who cared deeply about the environment.
The fellowship program is made possible by a grant from Cindy Scripps, Ted’s daughter, through the Scripps Howard Foundation. The program is organized and administered by the Center for Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder, with guidance from an advisory board.
