Find Your Lighting Path: In-depth Education for Students and Professionals

Just over 15 years after the invention of the electric light bulb, the Lighting Program at the University of Colorado began to take shape. Lighting has been a part of the education program since the earliest days of the university.

Among the most extensive undergraduate lighting programs in the world today, the program at CU has infused the lighting industry with hundreds of highly-skilled graduates. We provide our brand of excellent lighting education to industry professionals through the Rocky Mountain Lighting Academy (RMLA) and the professional graduate Certificate in Architectural Lighting, extending the great traditions and reputation of this program beyond residential students.

Undergraduate and Graduate students of CU Boulder enjoy a robust selection of classes in lighting that teach strong technical content applied through creative design.

Lighting Professionals advance their career and build technical and design skills through our courses developed for the industry. With options for entry-level to established professionals, we offer training to level-up at every step of your career.
