Retention of Exams and Papers

Retention of Exams and Papers

The political science department requests that you keep exams and papers for at least one full year after the end of the semester and then dispose of these items by shredding to protect student privacy. We recognize that storing these items can be especially cumbersome for graduate students due to limited storage space and office relocations.

We offer a solution to help you store exams and papers for one year, and we will also shred them after the year has passed. Please fill out a purple form that is printed and located in the front office on the student assistant desk. Put the form and the documents together with a rubber band and leave them in the mailroom on the table in the rear left corner. Please send a shredding email form to PSCISA@colorado.edu so that we know who requested the shredding. Email subject should be “Shredding_Your Last Name, and include the term (Spring) and Course Number (PSCI 1101-102). Be sure to have a section number.
