Undergraduate Student Loans

Federal Direct Subsidized & Unsubsidized Loans

The University of Colorado Boulder participates in the William D. Ford Direct Loan program (Direct or Stafford Loans). The lender is the U.S. Department of Education rather than a bank or other financial institution. You are considered for a Direct Loan after submitting your FAFSA if you are enrolled at least half time. Note: Loans must be processed by our office by the last day the student is enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.

Private Loans

Private student loans or alternative loans are available to students who are not eligible for federal loans or who need assistance beyond their financial aid eligibility. These loans are made through banks and other financial institutions and are subject to their terms.
